About the role
The Ontario Public Service is seeking a senior leader to shape the future of executive leadership across the province. As Director of the Leadership Strategy and Practices Branch, you will guide how senior executives are identified, developed and supported, ensuring the government has the capability to deliver results now and in the future.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise‑wide leadership strategy aligned with government priorities.
- Provide trusted counsel to senior executives on succession, talent and organizational matters.
- Lead high‑impact transformation initiatives covering succession planning, leadership development and talent systems.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams delivering executive onboarding, coaching and talent mobility services.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability and excellence while modelling Ontario Public Service leadership behaviours.
- Translate strategic objectives into measurable outcomes that strengthen senior executive capability.
Required profile
- Extensive experience influencing senior executive leadership within a complex public‑sector environment.
- Proven ability to partner directly with senior leaders across ministries and central agencies.
- Demonstrated track record of leading large‑scale, politically sensitive transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of executive talent planning, succession and leadership continuity.
