Director, Development and Alumni Engagement, Faculty of Science

About the role

The Faculty of Science is seeking a dynamic Director to lead development and alumni engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, you will manage a $4M portfolio of leadership-level donors and contribute to a $13M development program supporting the faculty's $27M annual goal.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a development team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, creating compelling cases for support.
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies that align with the faculty’s research and education priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze pipeline data, identify opportunities, and drive sustained investment.

Required profile

• Proven success in major‑gift fundraising and donor relationship management.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring fundraising professionals.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, especially around scientific research.
• Ability to navigate complex, multi‑faculty initiatives and work collaboratively.
• Self‑starter attitude, comfortable with ambiguity and strategic problem‑solving.
