Regional Marketing & Communications Consultant – North America

About the role

We are looking for a Regional Marketing and Communications Consultant to join NZTE’s North America team. The role blends marketing advisory, project management and relationship building to help ambitious New Zealand companies succeed in the world’s largest market.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with sector Trade Commissioners and Business Development Managers to build trusted relationships.
• Lead marketing and communications delivery, including events, trade missions, conference booths, campaigns and integrated initiatives.
• Connect sector teams with the wider Marketing, Communications and Solutions group (research, digital, content, event specialists).
• Take on region‑wide marketing duties such as trade media, social media and brand presence.
• Travel regularly to regional offices and major trade shows across North America.

Required profile

• Solid experience in marketing, communications, event marketing or related customer‑facing roles.
• Excellent writing and communication abilities.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders.
• Commercial curiosity, good judgement and proven project‑management capability.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments and thriving under pressure.
