Director – Canada Payments Business Development

About the role
EFICYENT is seeking a results‑driven Director to lead its Canadian market. You will be the face of the company in Canada, building relationships with banks, fintechs and other payment stakeholders while shaping the country’s growth strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Drive business development and revenue growth across Canada.
- Identify, originate, and close partnerships with banks, financial institutions, MSBs, payment providers and fintechs.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Canada market strategy and growth plan.
- Represent EFICYENT with local and global clients, partners, industry stakeholders and regulators.
- Build and manage strategic relationships within the Canadian payments ecosystem.
- Collaborate with global product, operations, compliance and sales teams.
- Provide market intelligence and uncover new growth opportunities.
- Act as a local market leader and brand ambassador.
Required profile
- 8‑10 years of experience in cross‑border payments or fintech.
- Proven track record in business development and strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and financial‑crime compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to originate and close B2B financial‑institution partnerships.
- Existing network within the Canadian payments ecosystem.
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to operate independently.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Legal right to work in Canada (citizen or permanent resident).
