Destinations Specialist – Travel Operations

About the role

Air Canada Vacations is seeking a Destinations Specialist to oversee the logistical and service delivery of all vacation destinations. The role involves being on‑site during regular and irregular operations to ensure a seamless travel experience for Canadian customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, train and coach local ground‑handling teams to meet Air Canada Vacations service standards.
• Monitor and evaluate service quality across all destinations, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal departments and local partners to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Lead destination branding initiatives and ensure compliance with corporate brand guidelines.
• Manage health, safety and well‑being of customers throughout resorts, transportation and excursions.
• Maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, partners and service providers.
• Update the Destination Services Manual and oversee procurement, inventory and logistics of operational and marketing supplies.
• Support RFP processes, supplier evaluations and recommendations.
• Lead on‑site crisis management and provide resolution during operational disruptions.
• Travel regularly to conduct operational assessments, service audits and quality assurance reviews.

Required profile

• Strong background in travel, tourism or destination management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in fast‑paced environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently and stay on location as needed.

Required skills

• Experience with ground‑handling operations and service quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of procurement, inventory control and logistics processes.
• Familiarity with brand compliance and marketing coordination.
• Crisis management and emergency response capabilities.
