Desktop Support Technician – Mining Operations

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician reports to the Supervisor, End User Computing and delivers day‑to‑day IT support for Elk Valley Resources’ mining and industrial sites. The role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 assistance for hardware, software and peripherals, both on‑site and remotely, ensuring reliable technology for operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote technical support for desktop computers, laptops, ruggedized devices, peripheral equipment and software.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain IT equipment across offices, operational areas, workshops and control rooms.
• Resolve incidents and service requests, documenting all activity in the IT ticketing system.
• Collaborate with vendor support, help desk, network operations and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
