Vice President, Digital Health & Chief Information Officer

About the role

The Vice President, Digital Health & Chief Information Officer leads Halton Healthcare’s digital, information and technology strategy. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Services & CFO, the role oversees a $35M budget and a team of roughly 200 staff across multiple technology domains.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the organization’s digital transformation roadmap, including the implementation of a new hospital information system.
• Lead cybersecurity, help‑desk, telecommunications, IT applications, networking, infrastructure, informatics, biomedical engineering, health records, coding, registration and emergency department admitting functions.
• Champion interoperable systems and emerging technologies such as AI to improve clinical and operational outcomes.
• Co‑lead the development of an actionable analytics ecosystem that supports real‑time decision‑making.
• Engage regularly with the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and provincial health authorities.
• Drive alignment, standardisation and shared digital infrastructure across hospital, primary care, community and home‑care partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in health‑care IT or a comparable large‑scale digital environment.
• Strong track record of managing multi‑disciplinary technology teams and multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex system implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with executive, board and external health stakeholders.
