Design Technologist - Drafting

About the role

The Design Technologist – Drafting will support engineering and construction projects by creating accurate design drawings and documentation. You will work closely with clients, engineers and production specialists to ensure design requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, detailed drawings and presentation drawings.
• Develop design sketches and detailing drafts.
• Prepare construction specifications, cost estimates and material take‑offs.
• Write technical reports and specifications.
• Complete documentation packages and drawing sets for project delivery.
• Review drawings for conformity, accuracy and errors.
• Consult with clients, engineers and production specialists to clarify product requirements.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education in Drafting and Design Technology or related field.
• 1 to less than 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with a mix of sitting, standing and walking.
• Team player who can collaborate effectively.
