Dental Assistant II – Dental Clinic

About the role

This full-time position supports the operation of the University of British Columbia Dental Clinic, providing chair-side assistance and handling instrument sterilization in a fast-paced educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up instruments, equipment and supplies for dental procedures.
• Assist faculty and dental students chair-side during clinical sessions.
• Disinfect and sterilize instruments and supplies in the dispensary and central sterilization area.
• Dispense materials to students and prepare clinical demonstration setups.
• Maintain cleanliness of cubicles, dispensaries and laboratory areas.
• Handle heavy instrument cassettes and operate sterilizers, ultrasonic units, and related equipment safely.

Required profile

• Current B.C. Dental Assistant certification and licence.
• High school graduation and completion of a dental assistant program.
• At least two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
