Day Host (Morning Shift) - Bar George

About the role

Bar George, a lively and elegant dining destination in the heart of Montreal's Golden Square Mile, is hiring a part-time day host (morning shift). The host creates a positive guest experience by keeping the restaurant efficient and well organized, managing guest flow and seating, and sharing a passion for food, beverage and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests warmly, professionally and quickly
• Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with front-of-house and back-of-house teams to optimize guest flow
• Keep the host stand and entrance clean and well presented
• Answer guest questions and help with special requests, wait times or accommodations
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly, attentive approach
• Help clear tables and run food and beverages as needed, plus other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Calm under pressure, proactive and team-oriented
• Valid Smart Serve certification required
• Available for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Eligible to work in Canada

Required skills

• Comfortable with reservation and table management systems (OpenTable preferred)
• Smart Serve certification
