Data Solutions Specialist

About the role

As a Data Consultant you will stand up the data services and streaming components of the platform, proving that data can be ingested, processed and consumed within a strictly isolated network. You will deploy and configure databases, streaming and processing components, and build ingestion and transformation pipelines that turn raw sources into curated datasets ready for analytical consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and configure data services and streaming components of the platform.
• Build scheduled and event‑driven ingestion pipelines, including change data capture where required.
• Develop transformation logic and business rules to curate raw data into consumable datasets.
• Implement data‑quality rules and automated validation across the pipeline.
• Establish metadata, lineage and access registration for curated data.
• Understand customers’ core business objectives and design end‑to‑end data‑centric solutions.
• Collaborate with business systems analysts to optimise pipeline performance.
• Write code following good standards and practices to minimise risk.
• Provide regular status reporting and help identify blockers with project managers and technical leads.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and maintaining data pipelines, transformation, medallion‑layer solutions and data modelling.
• Experience solutioning and building scalable data platforms.
• Experience with at least one leading cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in two of the following languages: Java, Scala, Python.
• Eligibility for Canadian Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or college program in computer science or a related field.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
