Data Science Co‑op Student – Build Forecasting Models

About the role

Join Rodan Energy as a Data Science Co‑op Student and gain hands‑on experience building forecasting models that drive real‑world facility, market, and pricing decisions. You will work in a live production environment, learning time‑series modeling, machine‑learning pipelines, and the Databricks platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate time‑series forecasting models for facility load, market demand, and electricity price signals.
• Explore and tune statistical, ML, and deep‑learning approaches under team guidance.
• Contribute to ML pipelines on Databricks using PySpark, MLflow, and Delta Lake.
• Develop dashboards and automated reports in Databricks to replace manual Excel workflows.
• Incorporate domain knowledge of market structures, tariff rules, and grid dynamics into model features.
• Communicate model performance, assumptions, and limitations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a co‑op program pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical thinking with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, self‑motivated, and comfortable asking questions and iterating on feedback.
