Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Officer to lead PII compliance initiatives for our organization. This remote contract position focuses on safeguarding personal data and ensuring lawful processing across all business units.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and management of PII compliance protocols.
• Evaluate data flows, classify risks, and mitigate structural identifiability concerns.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop, review, and update privacy policies.
• Provide guidance and training on handling sensitive documents and PII.
• Act as primary liaison during data privacy incidents, supporting investigation and remediation.
• Maintain detailed records of processing activities for regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in PII compliance, handling complex privacy scenarios.
• Deep understanding of GDPR, data privacy, and related compliance standards.
• Strong background in data management techniques that reduce re‑identification risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with sensitive documents, preferably in finance or corporate settings.
