Data Center Technician – 1 Year Contract, Travel Required

About the role

Insight Global is looking for a Data Center Technician II to support data‑center and critical‑infrastructure projects across client sites. The role involves hands‑on installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IT equipment while working largely in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installations, maintenance and troubleshooting of data‑center hardware and cabling.
• Support project delivery and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues.
• Travel up to 75% of the time to various customer locations.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years experience in data‑center, telecom or IT infrastructure environments.
• Hands‑on experience with cabling, hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Capability to read and interpret technical documentation and diagrams.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical/military experience is a plus.
• Relevant safety certifications (OSHA, NFPA 70E) are desirable.

What we offer

• 1‑year contract (3 weeks on, 1 week off)

• Schedule: M‑F 8 am – 5 pm
• Pay rate: $47 CAD per hour
