About the role
The University of British Columbia’s Centre for Disease Control is seeking a Data Analyst to join a multidisciplinary team of biostatisticians, data scientists, epidemiologists, and researchers. You will support the management and analysis of large integrated health cohorts, including the BC COVID‑19 Cohort and the BC Hepatitis Testers Cohort.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in planning, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of cohort data.
- Link administrative databases and develop complex data structures and analysis programs.
- Create analysis plans and conduct statistical analyses of linked datasets.
- Develop new algorithms, statistical techniques, and visualisation approaches.
- Contribute to scientific manuscripts and grant applications.
Required profile
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science).
- Experience working with large health‑administrative datasets.
- Ability to collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and public‑health officials.
Required skills
- Statistical analysis and modelling.
- Data linkage and database development.
- Algorithm design and data visualisation.
