Clinical Safety Assistant – Remote (Canada)

About the role
TRIO is seeking a Clinical Safety Assistant (internally known as a Medical Affairs Assistant) to support its Drug Safety Unit. This remote‑based position in Canada will involve managing safety reporting processes and providing administrative support to the Medical Affairs team.
Key responsibilities
- Distribute safety reports to reviewers, track receipt confirmations, and maintain filing.
- Handle administrative aspects of Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reporting, including reception, tracking, and data entry into the safety database.
- Support investigator site user access to the Safety Distribution System and oversee third‑party organization safety reporting activities.
- Set up trial‑specific instructions for Medical Affairs documents, maintain Trial Master File (TMF) filing, and participate in TMF quality control activities.
- Create and revise Trial Written Instructions as needed.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Medical Affairs team (mailings, document tracking, meeting minutes, etc.).
Required profile
- Minimum diploma in a science‑related field.
- At least two years of experience as an administrative assistant or coordinator.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Experience in a medical or clinical trials environment and medical knowledge are assets.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
