Grants Manager, Healthcare, Science & Research

About the role

The Azrieli Foundation seeks a Grants Manager to oversee a portfolio of grants within its Healthcare, Science and Research pillar. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Scientific Director, the role supports funding initiatives across neuroscience, health systems, clinical research, and healthcare delivery in Canada and Israel.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand knowledge of grant‑making trends, policy, and innovations to inform strategy.
• Develop and implement funding strategies and policies for senior leadership and Board approval.
• Identify and evaluate worthy funding opportunities in line with charitable tax laws and the Foundation’s mission.
• Administer grants through the full lifecycle, from intake and payment processing to monitoring and reporting.
• Assess grant performance and outcomes to guide future funding decisions.
• Represent the Azrieli brand at conferences and liaise with funded organisations on joint projects.

Required profile

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD or MD preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar role within a public or not‑for‑profit organisation.
• Experience in healthcare or research in Canada or Israel is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Detail‑ and deadline‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using web‑based program‑management and knowledge‑sharing platforms.
• Robust project‑management skills (PMP certification is an asset).
