Customs Analyst (Midnight Shift, Working from Home)

About the role

Thompson Ahern International, a long-established Canadian customs broker, is hiring a Customs Analyst. The analyst verifies and processes customs documentation for immediate release, working under pressure to meet deadlines and with other team members. Some holidays will require working. The position is a midnight shift, Tuesday to Saturday, 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM, working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and process customs documentation for immediate release
• Handle a work queue independently and understand customs clearance procedures
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines and with team members

Required profile

• Customs knowledge and strong knowledge of the customs tariff, regulations and customs act
• Experience with Air and Highway modes of transportation
• Experience handling Meat/Egg shipments, CFIA and TPL permits and other permits
• Ability to work unsupervised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and constant attention to detail
• Typing over 40 wpm (a typing test will be sent for verification)
• French is an asset
• CCS designation or enrolled in an asset is an asset
• Experience in the customs clearance industry is ideal
