About the role

The Manitoba Prosecution Service is seeking qualified Crown Attorneys to join its team in the North of Manitoba. This full‑time, regular position involves representing the Crown in criminal matters across the province.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and conduct prosecutions in all courts of Manitoba for offences contrary to the Criminal Code.
• Provide legal advice and support to law‑enforcement agencies.
• Prepare and present case files, evidence, and legal arguments in court.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective prosecution strategies.

Required profile

• Must meet all essential criteria for a Crown Attorney as defined by the Manitoba Justice system.
• Eligibility for employment equity considerations (Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, persons with disabilities).
• Willingness to work in remote northern locations such as The Pas or Thompson.

• Salary range $97,800 – $196,424 per year (CAD) with Northern Retention allowance of $12,000 annually.
