Course Lecturer – Third Year Professional Seminar (EDSL 315-001)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to deliver the third‑year professional seminar (EDSL 315‑001) in the Fall 2026 term. The position involves guiding pre‑service teachers through classroom processes, teaching strategies, and reflective practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and facilitate classroom activities on teaching and learning strategies.
• Design, implement, and assess lesson plans and classroom management techniques.
• Guide students in developing professional portfolios and competencies.
• Coordinate with the teaching team and attend planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Maintain course records and provide feedback on student performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Second Language Education or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Teaching qualification or equivalent credential.
• Demonstrated experience teaching English as a Second Language.
• Strong knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and related professional competencies.
• Experience in the Quebec elementary/secondary French school system or teaching pre‑service teachers is an asset.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and availability for coordination meetings.

Required skills
