Course Lecturer – Third Professional Seminar (Secondary)

About the role

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach EDEC 351-002, a Third Professional Seminar for secondary education pre‑service teachers. The position involves guiding students through professional portfolios, unit planning, critical analysis, and self‑reflection.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and facilitate classroom activities on Friday afternoons.
• Guide students in developing professional portfolios and competencies aligned with the Quebec Education Program.
• Design and assess lesson plans, unit plans, and reflective assignments.
• Collaborate with a team of instructors and attend coordination meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Utilize the myCourses platform and other digital tools to support blended learning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) and a teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated expertise in secondary education content and the Quebec Education Program.
• Experience teaching in Quebec elementary or secondary schools and with pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive teaching practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the myCourses learning management system.
• Experience using Zoom or similar video‑conferencing tools.
• Ability to deliver blended (in‑person and online) instruction.
• Strong technology skills for classroom integration.
