Course Lecturer – The Search for World Views (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach “The Search for World Views” (EDER 309-001). The lecturer will deliver a three‑credit course that examines major religious and non‑religious traditions, guiding pre‑service teachers in understanding diverse world views.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver weekly lectures on religious and non‑religious traditions.
• Design and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Collaborate with a team of instructors to ensure consistent curriculum delivery.
• Maintain office hours and provide feedback to students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent research/professional experience in the subject area).
• Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and the Professional Competencies mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Expertise in the content of world‑views, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Indigenous traditions, atheism and agnosticism.
• Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary or secondary school system.
• Proven success teaching similar courses to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to work with a collaborative instructional team.
