Course Lecturer – Policy Issues in Quebec & Indigenous Education

About the role

McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach EDEC 247-001/002/761, a 3‑credit course on Policy Issues in Quebec and Indigenous Education for the Fall 2026 term. The role involves delivering in‑person lectures, guiding discussions, and assessing student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two weekly lectures (Monday & Wednesday, 5:35 pm–7:25 pm) in SADB M‑1.
• Prepare and update course materials covering historical, political, social, cultural, and legal perspectives of Quebec and Indigenous education.
• Facilitate classroom discussions and evaluate assignments, exams, and projects.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Maintain accurate records and grade submissions in the university’s learning management system.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or exceptional professional experience related to the course content).
• Expert knowledge of Quebec education policy, the Quebec Education Program, and Ministère de l’Éducation competencies.
• Demonstrated experience teaching in the Quebec school system and to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and equity‑focused teaching.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myCourses or similar LMS platforms.
• Experience using Zoom for virtual or blended instruction.
