Course Lecturer – Media & Feminist Studies (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Art History and Communication Studies is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach COMS 310 – Media and Feminist Studies during the Fall 2026 term. The lecturer will deliver lectures, lead discussions, and assess student work for a 3‑credit course.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on feminist and queer theory in media, gender representation, and intersectional analysis.
• Facilitate class discussions and seminars on Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Prepare and grade assignments, exams, and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain the official course schedule, including the make‑up class on December 3, 2026.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or ABD Ph.D. candidate in Communication Studies.
• Scholarly training or research experience in media and feminist studies.
• Availability for the full course period (August 31 – December 4, 2026).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of feminist, queer, and media theory.
• Ability to critically analyze media representations of gender, race, class, and sexuality.
