Course Lecturer – Geography, History & Citizenship Education (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) seeks a qualified Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach EDEE 280-001, a multidisciplinary course on Geography, History, and Citizenship Education designed for elementary school teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and facilitate classroom activities on the course content.
• Develop teaching materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with the Quebec Education Program.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Collaborate with a team of instructors to ensure consistent delivery of the curriculum.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience in exceptional cases).
• Teaching degree or equivalent qualification and proven experience teaching in schools.
• Expert knowledge of the course subject matter and familiarity with the Quebec Education Program and its professional competencies.
• Experience teaching within the Quebec school system and successfully delivering similar courses to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to teamwork and availability for coordination meetings.
