Course Lecturer for Students with Behaviour Difficulties (EDPI 441)

About the role

The Office of First Nations and Inuit Education at McGill University seeks two qualified Course Lecturers to deliver the EDPI 441 course on students with behaviour difficulties. The role involves delivering theoretical and practical instruction to pre‑service teachers, focusing on inclusive strategies for learners with emotional, behavioural, and attention‑deficit challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom sessions (weeks 1 & 3 in‑person, week 2 online) covering multimodal team interventions and evidence‑based teaching methods.
• Assess student application of teaching methods through practical components and provide feedback.
• Coordinate course planning activities two weeks prior to the start date, including curriculum alignment with the Quebec Education Program.
• Travel to Chisasibi and Mistissini sites, with mileage, accommodation and per diems covered.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Learning Sciences, Human Development, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of educational and psychological theories and their application in authentic settings.
• Experience teaching at the college/university level or K‑12, with familiarity with Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MELS) requirements.
• Understanding of inclusive education, Indigenous perspectives, and the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities.
