Course Lecturer – Diverse Learners (EDPI 309 712)

About the role

The Office of First Nations and Inuit Education at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach EDPI 309 712 “Diverse Learners” in the fall of 2026. The position carries three credit hours, is not team‑taught, and runs from 23 Nov to 28 Nov 2026 on a full‑day schedule (Monday‑Saturday, 9 am–12 pm and 1:30–5 pm) in Inukjuak.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the “Diverse Learners” course, covering inclusive education theories, models, and teaching strategies for pre‑service teachers.
• Coordinate course planning activities two weeks before the start date and adapt content to the cultural, linguistic and social context of Inukjuak.
• Engage with families and local school partners, integrating Indigenous perspectives and addressing the impact of colonialism on education.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Learning Sciences, Human Development, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of inclusive education concepts, the Quebec Education Program, and Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MELS) requirements.
• Experience teaching at the university level or K‑12, preferably in Indigenous or Quebec elementary school settings.
