Course Lecturer – Elementary Biblical Hebrew (Fall 2026)

About the role

The School of Religious Studies at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach RELG 390D1: Elementary Biblical Hebrew during the Fall 2026 term. This is a 3‑credit course delivered twice weekly.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and lead classroom discussions for the Elementary Biblical Hebrew course.
• Prepare and present a detailed course outline and syllabus.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.
• Maintain office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum development.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Ph.D. in religious studies or advanced candidacy for a Ph.D.
• Demonstrated superior teaching ability, evidenced by prior teaching experience.
• Submission of a proposed course outline as part of the application.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
