About the role
The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to deliver the Fall 2026 offering of EDPC 505 – Crisis Intervention Processes. This is a union‑protected, course‑by‑course appointment for a three‑credit, non‑team‑taught class.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver two‑hour lectures and facilitate discussions on crisis symptoms, professional interventions, and ethical considerations.
- Develop and update course materials to reflect current research and best practices.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to university and union policies.
Required profile
- PhD (or equivalent) in Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Graduate‑level training in crisis intervention and trauma.
- Clinical or applied experience in crisis and trauma response.
- Demonstrated teaching experience with satisfactory evaluations, especially in the hiring unit.
- Evidence of continuing education (minimum 15 CE hours per year) if three or more years post‑degree.
Required skills
- Expertise in crisis intervention and trauma‑informed practice.
- Curriculum design and student assessment.
- Ability to integrate current research into teaching.
