Course Lecturer – Classroom Practices (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks a Course Lecturer to teach EDES 350-003/004 Classroom Practices in the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering a three‑credit, competency‑based course that links theory to classroom management practice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver weekly lectures on classroom management strategies.
• Facilitate in‑person learning sessions in Education Building (EDUC 216) on Fridays, 08:35 am–11:25 am.
• Design and grade assessments, providing constructive feedback to pre‑service teachers.
• Coordinate with the DISE teaching team and attend planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Maintain course materials on the myCourses platform and conduct any required Zoom sessions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) and a teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in elementary or secondary schools, preferably as a specialist (e.g., music, TESL).
• Strong knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and Ministry of Education professional competencies.
• Demonstrated expertise in classroom management content.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and availability for coordination meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myCourses learning management system.
• Familiarity with Zoom or similar online meeting platforms.
