Course Lecturer – Classroom Practices (EDES 350-001)

About the role

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach EDES 350-001: Classroom Practices in the Fall 2026 term. This 3‑credit, on‑site course focuses on competency‑based classroom management, linking theory to practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and facilitate classroom activities on Friday mornings (08:35‑11:25).
• Design and assess assignments that develop students' classroom management skills.
• Coordinate with the DISE teaching team and attend planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Maintain course materials on myCourses and conduct any required Zoom sessions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) and a teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in elementary or secondary schools, preferably as a specialist (e.g., music, TESL).
• Strong knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and provincial professional competencies.
• Commitment to collaborative teaching and equity‑focused education.
