Coordinator of Volunteer Development

About the role

CityKidz is looking for a full‑time Coordinator of Volunteer Development to lead and expand its volunteer program. Reporting to the Manager of Programs, you will shape recruitment, training, engagement and recognition strategies that support the organization’s mission to empower children in low‑income communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategy, including community partnerships, social media outreach, screening, onboarding and placement across departments.
• Develop and deliver orientation, training and ongoing development programs, and manage volunteer scheduling and recognition initiatives.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, monitor program expenses, ensure compliance with policies and generate regular impact reports.
• Collaborate with department leaders and the Resource Development team to align volunteer resources with program needs and support Saturday program delivery as a rotational lead.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Volunteer Management, HR, Community Development or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in volunteer engagement, recruitment, training or management.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to the faith‑based, inclusive mission of CityKidz.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence, ability to work evenings/weekends and a current Vulnerable Sector Check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using volunteer management software, databases or CRM systems.
