Co‑op Student – US & Canadian Cross‑Border Tax

About the role

Join Baker Tilly’s US/Cross Border Tax team as a Co‑op Student, where you will gain hands‑on experience preparing cross‑border individual tax returns for US and Canadian clients while developing professional skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Cross‑Border (US and Canadian) individual income tax returns.
• Collaborate with and support team members in providing excellent client service.
• Participate in special projects as assigned by partners or senior staff.

Required profile

• Working towards or completion of a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (Accounting major preferred).
• Working towards completion of prerequisite courses for the CPA PEP.
• Familiarity with basic accounting concepts such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong motivation, work ethic, attention to detail, and interest in accounting and tax work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with various computer applications.
• Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep (asset, not required).
