Co‑op Researcher – Graphics Technology Lab

About the role

Huawei Canada’s Graphics Technology Lab is looking for a co‑op researcher to advance its media‑technology portfolio. The role combines cutting‑edge research in computer graphics and AI with practical engineering to bring new capabilities into Huawei products.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research and engineering in the graphics domain to support R&D initiatives.
• Translate AI/CG research outcomes into real‑world solutions and integrate them across Huawei product lines.
• Summarize findings in high‑quality papers or patents to provide expert opinions for the field.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field with a focus on computer graphics, computer vision, or machine learning.
• Strong background in machine learning and deep learning techniques such as DNNs, GANs, Vision Transformers, and diffusion models.
• Hands‑on experience with dense estimation tasks (e.g., SVBRDF, super‑resolution, inpainting, neural rendering) and rapid prototyping in Python.
• Track record of publishing at conferences or journals (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CVPR) is a plus.

What we offer

• Annual compensation ranging from $58,000 to $104,000 CAD, based on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.
