Cook's Helper – Casual Food Preparation Support

About the role

McGill University is seeking a casual Cook's Helper to support food preparation across several student residence dining halls. This temporary, part‑time position runs from August 22, 2026 to April 30, 2027 and offers flexible day, evening, and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Dining Hall Supervisor or Chef in preparing all menu items.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards while handling ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Support kitchen operations during peak service periods, including weekends.

Required profile

• Diploma from an accredited culinary school **or** a high school diploma with at least three years of experience as a Cook’s Helper.
• Ability to read and write in English and/or French.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment.
