Cook – Japanese Restaurant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at Sushi Mania, a vibrant Japanese restaurant in downtown Vancouver. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Japanese dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes according to menu specifications.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling.
• Supervise kitchen helpers and coordinate workflow during service periods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations and equipment at the end of each shift.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in a Japanese or Asian cuisine environment.
• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.
