Cook – Hotel/Rural Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team in a rural hotel or resort setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high‑quality meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and special meals for patients or guests with dietary restrictions.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and compliance.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
• Order supplies and equipment, maintain inventory records.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, organize buffets and banquets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required profile

• Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, repetitive, and pressure‑filled setting.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork orientation.
• Willingness to travel as required.
