Cook – East Indian Cuisine

About the role

Sizzling Tandoor Restaurant is seeking a dedicated Cook to join its kitchen team in Victoria, BC. You will be responsible for preparing East Indian dishes while ensuring quality, safety, and consistency for all guests.

Key responsibilities

• Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and special meals for patients as directed.
• Handle food allergies and intolerances by preparing appropriate dishes.
• Inspect kitchen and service areas, maintain cleanliness, and ensure sanitation standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school) certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in East Indian cuisine.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and on‑call shifts.
• Basic knowledge of Hindi or Punjabi is an asset.
