Contract IOC Operator – Optimization

About the role

This contract position is for an experienced IOC Operator focused on optimization of oil and gas well performance in Grande Prairie, Alberta. You will use real‑time data and surveillance tools to drive production efficiency and support artificial lift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize well performance using real‑time data and SCADA surveillance tools.
• Support artificial lift strategies, including set‑point adjustments, cycle optimization, and troubleshooting of plunger lift, rod pump, and gas lift wells.
• Assist with operation, maintenance, and optimization of artificial lift systems and new installations.
• Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and optimization teams to implement improvements.
• Perform real‑time data analytics across multiple sources and advanced monitoring platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and documentation of optimization activities.
• Participate in the Conventional Well Review process.

Required profile

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Minimum high school diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• SCADA systems knowledge.
• IOC technologies such as Cygnet, XSPOC, and ROIP communications.
• Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams.
• Experience with PC‑based applications like WellView.
