Content Developer (Part or Full-Time)

About the role

FamilyLife Canada, a division of Power to Change Ministries, is looking for a Content Developer (full-time or part-time) based in Abbotsford, BC, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. The role creates content for familylifecanda.com and helps develop educational resources used by field staff and churches to enrich marriages and families. Funding comes from Ministry Partner Development.

Key responsibilities

• Create original website content on marriage and parenting topics, following the site style guide and representing FamilyLife's voice
• Write content marketing pieces that support ministry goals and boost conference registrations
• Plan a deployment strategy for new content and let website statistics refine the content strategy
• Curate content to republish and index as resources
• Help post to social media and write newsletters
• Ensure all content includes credited, approved photos
• Brainstorm new content ideas and refresh homepages and index pages weekly
• Edit new curriculum with project leads

Required profile

• Bachelor of Arts in English, Communications, Christian Ministry or a related field
• 2-3 years of writing and editing experience in a professional context
• Ability to write for online engagement and to learn how to read website statistics
• Self-motivated, organized and able to meet deadlines
• Team player who welcomes creative collaboration and honest feedback

Required skills

• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Experience with content management systems such as WordPress, or the aptitude to learn them
• Quick learner of new technology and online applications
