Construction Project Manager – New Build & Fit‑Up

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a leading Ottawa‑based general contractor. Reporting to the VP of Construction, you will oversee multiple new‑build and interior fit‑up projects, ensuring they meet design, quality, budget, and schedule expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of two active construction projects and prepare for upcoming assignments.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Coordinate sequencing of tasks, adjust timelines proactively, and keep projects on track.
• Oversee contracts, sub‑contracts, and construction teams to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Monitor budget performance, quality control, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, preferably with large interior fit‑up projects.
• Current government security clearance (Secret or Reliability considered).
• Strong background in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) construction.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, sub‑contracts, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
