Compounding Pharmacist – Lead Practice

About the role

Murphy's Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Compounding Pharmacist to lead its non‑sterile compounding practice in Charlottetown. The role combines laboratory oversight, patient and professional education, and community outreach to deliver high‑quality personalized medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the compounding lab team, providing training and competency assessments.
• Build and maintain relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners and other prescribers to promote compounding services.
• Prepare and verify non‑sterile compounded medications in accordance with NAPRA Model Standards.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration and compliance with provincial regulations.
• Monitor performance metrics such as prescription volume, revenue and repeat client rates.

Required profile

• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory body.
• 2–3 years of experience in non‑sterile compounding within a community pharmacy.
• Strong understanding of NAPRA standards and Canadian pharmacy practice.

Required skills

• Non‑sterile compounding techniques.
• Knowledge of NAPRA Model Standards.
• Experience with compounding software and pharmacy management systems.
• Certification in compounding (e.g., PCCA training).
