Community Connections Manager – Indigenous Engagement

About the role

The Community Connections Manager leads community engagement and communications for Tŝilhq’in Nidlin, strengthening ties between the six Tŝilhq’in communities and the Nation’s family services. The role coordinates outreach activities, creates clear information materials, and oversees social media and other public communications.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with leadership, Child and Family teams, staff and members across all six communities.
• Develop and implement a community engagement plan, including meetings, information sessions, urban engagements and events.
• Gather community feedback, ensure it informs planning, and communicate updates and successes.
• Create plain-language materials such as posters, pamphlets, FAQs and newsletters.
• Lead the communications strategy, managing social media, website content and public announcements.
• Coordinate graphic design, photography, printing and other communications services.

Required profile

• Post-secondary education in communications, community engagement, Indigenous studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in communications, community engagement or related roles.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations.
• Strong relationship-building, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to convey complex information in plain language.
• Ability to travel frequently within Tŝilhq’in territory and reside in the Williams Lake area.
• Valid BC driver’s licence and clean criminal record check.
