Communications Specialist – Stone Centre on Wealth & Income Inequality

About the role

The Communications Specialist will develop and execute strategic communications and knowledge‑mobilisation plans for the Stone Centre on Wealth and Income Inequality. This role creates editorial content, manages social media, supports outreach, and coordinates media outreach to amplify the Centre’s research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement strategic communications and knowledge‑mobilisation plans.
• Develop and maintain an editorial calendar and produce associated content.
• Manage the Centre’s social‑media accounts and engage audiences.
• Support outreach and engagement activities with faculty, fellows and external partners.
• Coordinate media outreach and ensure adherence to UBC and Arts brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Research Manager, Centre Director, Associate Directors and affiliated staff.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in strategic communications and knowledge mobilisation.
• Strong written and editorial skills for academic and public audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with researchers, administrators and external partners.
• Understanding of brand guidelines and media relations.
