Commercial Manager

About the role

Clearway is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead contract and commercial activities across pre‑construction and construction phases of large‑scale infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Vice‑President, Alternative Procurement, the role will work from the Maple head office and travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract and commercial management from opportunity assessment through to project close‑out, including bid strategy, negotiation, award, change management and claims.
• Review RFQs, RFPs and project agreements to identify obligations, risk allocation and commercial exposures, and develop risk‑opportunity matrices and negotiation positions.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, project controls and operations teams to maintain contract‑management plans, notice registers, change logs and claim registers.
• Support alternative delivery models such as DB, CMAR, P3, IPD and oversee subcontract and consultant administration, compliance and close‑out.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive contracts, commercial or procurement experience on large, complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Law or related field; advanced training in construction law or contracts is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated experience with alternative and collaborative delivery models (DB, CMAR, P3, IPD, etc.).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Bluebeam for document review.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
• Knowledge of ERP or change‑management systems.
