Classroom Coordinator – Physical Therapy Program

About the role

The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program at UBC needs a Classroom Coordinator to manage daily teaching‑space operations at the Vancouver site. The role ensures labs, classrooms and clinical exam rooms are set up, equipped and ready for students and instructors. It also provides administrative support for scheduling, room bookings and exam logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and take down clinical lab sessions, including moving therapy beds, chairs and other equipment.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of program equipment, track spending and schedule calibration/maintenance.
• Book rooms and configure audio‑visual (AV) connections, entering detailed AV scripts into the Resource Scheduler.
• Support written and clinical exams by providing laptops, handling ExamSoft login issues and coordinating patient partners.
• Assist with Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs), including station setup, catering and patient model recruitment.
• Liaise with Digital Solutions (MEDIT) to ensure AV equipment functions correctly and resolve technical issues promptly.

Required profile

• High school graduation plus one year of post‑secondary education and at least three years of related experience.
• Physical ability to lift and move therapy equipment and start work at 7:30 am.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Ability to work on‑site at the UBC Point Grey Campus and interact courteously with faculty, students and external partners.

Required skills

• Audio‑visual equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• AV scripting within the Resource Scheduler system.
• Use of ExamSoft for exam administration.
• Coordination with Digital Solutions (MEDIT) for AV support.
