Class 1 Team Highway Driver (LCV)

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, which has provided transportation and logistics solutions across North America for over 65 years, is hiring Class 1 drivers to join an existing driver as a 2-person team driving a tractor-trailer. The route covers LTL and general freight in Northern Alberta, Northern British Columbia and Northern Canada, travelling day and night in all weather through the prairies, the mountains and the Dempster Highway.

Key responsibilities

• Transport LTL and general freight, possibly with various trailer combinations depending on the destination
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment checks and load securement
• Use an electronic log device to record defects and hours of service

Required profile

• Class 1 license with at least 2 years of Class 1 experience to qualify for LCV certification; Dempster and mountain experience is an asset
• Fewer than 4 demerits on the commercial abstract
• Able to pass a criminal record search and provide two former supervisors
• Physically fit and willing to complete classroom courses, mountain qualification training with a coach and LCV qualification training

• On-duty driving pay of $52.82 per hour and off-duty pay of $39.30 per hour, plus a premium for pulling LCV
