Claims Associate – Inventory & Returns

About the role

The Claims Associate supports inventory accuracy and store profitability by handling damaged and returned merchandise according to company guidelines. This role works with vendors, associates and customers to secure credits, maintain inventory control and ensure smooth store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle damaged and stolen items by scanning them quickly and accurately to prevent loss.
• Prepare and process returns, vendor requests, recalls and donation items, completing paperwork, packing and shipping on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe claims area by following proper lifting, ladder use and chemical disposal procedures.
• Follow company claims procedures, keep records up‑to‑date and complete required forms to reduce chargebacks.
• Support store programs such as the Customer Value Program and assist other team members as needed.
• Provide assistance to Office Support Associates and Direct Store Delivery Associates when required.
• Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to ensure smooth store operations.

Required profile

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift inventory up to 20 lb (occasionally up to 50 lb) and perform repetitive stocking tasks.
• Willingness to work varied schedules, including overnight, evenings, weekends and holidays.
