City Pickup & Delivery Driver

About the role

Manitoulin Transport in Dryden, Ontario, is expanding to support the growing mining industry in northwestern Ontario and is looking for a professional, detail-oriented local city pickup and delivery (P&D) driver. You will operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and cargo on designated routes, delivering to and picking up from customers around the Dryden terminal, loading and unloading your truck and meeting time-sensitive requirements. The position is paid by incentives with a guaranteed minimum hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver freight and cargo to customers in the area surrounding the Dryden terminal and pick them up
• Load and unload your truck for deliveries
• Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism in a fast-paced logistics environment
• Occasionally be flexible with availability

Required profile

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the jurisdiction, with a clean driving record
• At least 2 years of verifiable linehaul or long-haul driving experience
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
• Understanding of vehicle safety protocols and defensive driving
• Time management, route planning, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to operate dispatch systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
• Physical ability to load, unload and inspect vehicles
• Customer service orientation; preferred: Hazmat endorsement, freight management system experience and logistics coordination experience

• Wages of $30.00 an hour plus incentives, with earning potential of $100,000+ per year
