Child Youth Support Needs Worker

About the role

The Child Youth Support Needs (CYSN) Worker joins the KFS Team in the northern St’át’imc Territory, reporting to the Team Leader. This part‑time position provides direct, goal‑oriented assistance to children and youth with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder and supports their families in developing essential skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and group services to children/youth and families based on a collaboratively developed service plan.
• Assist families in building child‑management strategies, parenting skills, and related competencies.
• Document client progress toward service‑plan goals and maintain accurate records.
• Apply tact and sound judgment when handling sensitive and complex issues.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal, conflict‑resolution and communication abilities.
• Experience coaching and instructing clients with disabilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
• Understanding of St’át’imc culture.
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
